We are pleased to let you know that Day 1 of our August summer session was a complete success! All the teens got along really well and showed an active interest in getting to know each other. We had each student complete an independence survey in order to assess everyone's goals and confidence across several areas. We met at our meeting location and walked together as a group to our lunch destination of California Pizza Kitchen. We engaged the teens in the importance of following directions, street signs, and having an awareness of one’s surroundings. All teens were responsible for ordering their own food and understanding the cost associated with their lunch choice. We also began to work with the group on appropriate table conversations, manners, paying the bill, and tipping.
