We had a wonderful time on our fall outing this past Saturday. The teens used google maps to locate the Union Square Market to explore the pumpkins for sale, as well as all the different farm fresh vegetables and fruits. We then made our way to a lunch at Wendy's, where the teens practiced how to pay for their own lunch. Finally, we spent time in a local Halloween store planning out our costumes for Halloween next week! Most importantly during this session, we went over the concept of "stranger danger." In Union Square and traveling on Park Avenue, we encountered some local individuals who approached us. We made sure the teens understood the practice of not speaking to strangers and the idea that there are many different types of people in New York City. Just because someone speaks to us, does not mean that we must respond back to ensure our safety is maintained!
